Shavlinskie lakes are the most famous ones in Altay.  Ancient cedars come close to the very surface of the water, creating an unforgettable fairy contrast bright blue color…You will discover the beauty of the pristine alpine lakes, mountain peaks, snow-capped peaks, whose names speak for themselves - Dream, Beauty and the Fairy Tale.
Rafting part of the tour takes place on the Middle and Lower Katun with the rapids of 3-4 difficulty grades. The rafting starts at the mouth of the Big Yaloman river and finishes near Chemal village. The rafting will leave unforgettable experience of the beauty of Altay and joy of overcoming the water element.

Tour program

Day 1. Barnaul – ECO tourist complex “Nomad” (610 km by car)
Morning meeting (7.00 - at the airport, near the arrival hall, 8.00 – at the railway station, under the information board). Departure on highway M-52 in the direction of the Mongolian border (Chuysky Trakt). Stop for lunch and registration formalities at the hotel "Manzherok" (2-3 hours). Continuation of the route along the Chuysky Highway that passes through Seminsky and Chike-Taman passovers till the ECO tourist complex "Nomad", located on the bank of the Chuya river. Overnight in four local Mongolian yurts or Russian homes. Russian bath.

Day 2. Mazhoi cascade. Chuya and Oroy rivers (15 km on foot)
Breakfast. Beginning of the tours’ active part. Pack horses support rental (optional). Trekking till Mazhoi cascade on the Chuya river. Cross over the Oroktoy bridge to the left bank of the Chuya river and then to the upper reaches of the river Oroy. Accommodation surrounded by larch forest in tents.

Day 3. Oroy passover. Eshtyk-Kel Plateau (14 km on foot)
Trek to the Oroy passover (2045 m), followed by a plateau Eshtyk-Kel, on the way we overcome several fords (on the rocks). Overnight on the left bank of Shabaga river.

Day 4. Lower Shavla Lake (17 km on foot)
Trek till the Lower Shavla lake. On the way to the lake marvelous scenery of the turquoise Shavla lake surrounded by high snow-capped peaks Dreams, Fairy Tales and Belle appears in front of your eyes. On a clear calm weather they peaks are fully reflected in the huge mirror of the lake. Setting a camp on the shore.

Day 5. Upper Shavla lake (8 km on foot)
Recreation day. Radial trek to Upper Shavla lake and glacier. Russian bath (optional)*.

Day 6. Shavla and Shabaga rivers (26 km on foot)
Trek to the Shavla and Shabaga rivers and the Oroy passover.

Day 7. Oroy passover. Complex “Nomad” (20 km on foot)
The descent from the Oroy passover, trekking till the ECO tourist complex “Nomad”. Camping on the territory. Farewell dinner. Russian bath (optional)*.

Day 8. Kalbak-Tash petroglyphs. Big Yaloman river (110 km by car)
Moving up to the rafting starting point – to the mouth of Big Yaloman river. On the way - visit the Kalbak-Tash petroglyphs On a rocky flattened hill, located across the valley of the river Chuya, over 500 songs with over 5000 figures are painted. They are all made with the stone or metal tools mainly in the dot technique. Preparation for rafting. Overnight in tents on the bank of the Katun river.

Day 9. “Ilgumen” and “Kadrinsky breakthrough” rapids (25 km on raft)
Conducted safety training on the water, training with the use of water equipment, engineering controls. Rafting through the rapids "Ilgumen", "Kadrinsky breakthrough". Parking at the camp site "giant pines".

Day 10. “Sabbath” rapid (30 km on raft)
Rafting through the rapid "Sabbath" followed by several powerful shivers. During the visit of "Petroglyphs" site – observation of the rock paintings. Overnight at the river mouth of Kemechepkan in a pine forest.

Day 11.  “Ayulinsky” rapid. Beltertuyuk waterfall (25 km on raft)
Continuation of rafting on a quiet part of the Katun. The river valley is located in the exotic rocky shores. Rafting through the rapid ‘Ayulinsky". Lunch at the confluence of the Beltertuyuk waterfall into the Katun river or on a sandy beach.

Day 12. “Teldekpen” and “Elandinsky” rapids (25 km on raft)
The day starts by rafting through the rapid “Teldekpen” (from Altaian "the raised mountain"). Further rafting through the "Elandinsky" rapid. Night in a picturesque location on the bank of the river.

Day 13.  “Chemal tube” and “Iradash” (30 km on raft)
Rafting through the "Chemal tube" and "Iradash" rapids. Rafting duration – 6 hours. The end of the rafting is in Ust-Sema village. Russian bath (optional)*. Farewell party at the fire.

Day 14. Barnaul (320 km by car)
Breakfast. Transfer to Barnaul. Accommodation in a 3 *** hotel in twin rooms.

Day 15. Barnaul airport (25 km by car)
Transfer to the airport.
